Tim, I'm assuming you will change the location of the elevator in the upper levels. How does the open to below area in the upper floors relate to the class rooms? Can adjust the open areas above to remove the dead-ends (the spaces need to be not more than 2.5 times the widths not to act as a corridor with the 20' dead end limitation), by either rotate the open to below to the end, or even introduce a free form?
The open areas are balconies. I would need to rotate the dorms to create open areas to the studios. I really don't want to change the orientation of the dorms.
Might be a possibility when I get caught up, but it starts to really conflict with the ciculation flow and studio orientation which are both primary to my design. For example, the center dorm would need to move to the north wall, pushing the circulation to the south which has been rather awkward in my past configurations. Wouldn't adding free forms be somewhat arbitrary?

By the dead-ends, I assume you mean on the dorm level. I was hoping the lounge areas would not be considered as corridors.
